LP8718C is a constant voltage, constant power, and constant current driver chip suitable for secondary-side controlled flyback applications. The LP8718C integrates a 650V high-voltage power tube and uses a unique detection method and algorithm, allowing the system to operate in both constant voltage and constant power output states. In constant voltage mode, the chip uses peak current control and reduces frequency below medium load to improve average efficiency. In light load or no-load conditions, the system operates in burst mode; in constant power and constant current mode, the chip calculates the output voltage and demagnetization point through the DET pin voltage, and sets different output current limit values according to different system output voltages to achieve constant power and low output voltage constant current characteristics. The chip uses unique frequency jitter technology to improve EMI performance. The LP8718C has multiple protection functions, including VCC undervoltage protection, VCC overvoltage protection, output short-circuit protection, output synchronous rectification short-circuit protection, inductor overcurrent protection, overtemperature protection, input undervoltage protection, output overvoltage protection, optocoupler input short-circuit protection, and CS resistor short-circuit protection. The LP8718C uses an ASOP6 package.
