Overview: CN2628 is a low-noise linear voltage regulator IC that can be powered by solar energy. It features a fixed 5.0V output voltage, a maximum output current of up to 1 ampere, and an output voltage accuracy of ±1% within an input voltage range of 5.5V to 7V. The CN2628 operating current is only 520µA and is independent of the input-output voltage differential. The CN2628's internal output current adaptive module automatically adjusts the output current based on the input power's current output capability. Users do not need to consider worst-case scenarios and can maximize the utilization of the input power's current output capability. This makes it ideal for applications such as charging mobile phones using power sources with limited current output capabilities, such as solar panels. CN2628 has a constant current mode to set the maximum output current. When the output is shorted, the output current is 10% of the set constant current output. In addition, CN2628 uses temperature modulation, not temperature protection. When the CN2628 junction temperature rises to near 130℃ due to excessive power consumption or high ambient temperature, the temperature modulation circuit will reduce the output current to prevent further temperature increase. Other features include two status indicator outputs, an internal soft-start circuit, output overcurrent protection, reverse current protection, and chip enable. CN2628 is available in a heat-enhanced SOP8 package.
