The CC6416 is a high-performance single-coil brushless DC motor (fan) driver IC. This IC is manufactured using an advanced high-voltage BiCMOS process. The chip includes a high-sensitivity Hall sensor, a chopper offset elimination module, a Hall temperature compensation unit, a voltage regulator, and a low RDSON full-bridge driver, etc. The CC6416 integrates a lock protection function. When the fan is locked, it will automatically stop supplying power to the coil and enter the self-start state, thereby reducing power consumption during the fan lock process, ensuring that the fan will not burn out during the lock, and greatly improving the reliability of the fan. The CC6416 integrates reverse connection protection, eliminating the need for external reverse connection protection diodes, saving costs for customers. The CC6416 has a soft-start function, reducing the peak current during fan startup. The CC6416 has a soft-switching function, resulting in low fan operating noise. The CC6416FG has a speed detection function, and the CC6416RD has a lock alarm function. The CC6416 is available in SOT335 and CPC8-5 packages.
