It is a synchronous step-down converter that can drive a load current of 4.8A.
The SP1220F is a synchronous step-down PWM controller capable of driving a dual-output 8A (4A+4A) load current. The design allows the SP1220F to operate within a wide input voltage range of 9V to 40V. An external shutdown function is achieved by pulling the COMP/EN pin logic level low, entering standby mode. External compensation provides the feedback control loop with good line regulation and load regulation, and offers flexible peripheral design.
The SP1220F can operate in either CC (constant current output) or CV (constant voltage output) mode. The overcurrent protection (OCP) current value can be set via an external current sensing resistor. The chip also provides comprehensive protection mechanisms, including: output overcurrent protection, output short-circuit protection, output overvoltage protection, and overtemperature protection.
The SP1220F chip uses an MSOP10 package and requires only a few external components for normal operation.
