TP8305B

The TP8305B is a boost type DC/DC converter designed to drive white LEDs with a wide input voltage range (0.8~5.5V), using two modes: adjustable constant current and limited current. It uses a frequency modulation mode with cycle-by-cycle current limiting, allowing the input and output currents to change uniformly as the supply voltage decreases. This device can drive a single high-power white LED using a single or double dry cell battery, and can also drive two, three, or more WLEDs using a single lithium battery. The method of driving WLEDs in series connection provides equal WLED current, resulting in uniform brightness. The low feedback voltage of 46mV minimizes the power consumption of the current regulating resistor, thus improving efficiency. The 46mV current limiting feedback voltage allows the current limit to be set according to different needs. The TP8305B differs from the TP8305 in that, in current limiting mode, the input and output current of the TP8305 will suddenly change at a certain point as the input voltage decreases. The TP8305B uses frequency modulation mode to avoid this phenomenon. All other functions remain unchanged. See the detailed specifications at the end.
