TP4057

The TP4057 is a complete single-cell lithium-ion battery charger with reverse polarity protection, using constant current/constant voltage linear control. Its SOT package and minimal external components make the TP4057 ideal for portable applications. The TP4057 is suitable for USB power and adapter power. The TP4057 uses an internal PMOSFET architecture and reverse charge protection, eliminating the need for external sense resistors and isolation diodes. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charge current to limit chip temperature during high-power operation or high ambient temperatures. The full voltage is fixed at 4.2V, while the charge current can be set externally via a resistor. After the battery reaches 4.2V, the charge current drops to 1/10 of the set value, and the TP4057 automatically terminates charging. When the input voltage (AC adapter or USB power) is removed, the TP4057 automatically enters a low-current state, with a battery leakage current below 2µA. Other features of the TP4057 include a charge current monitor, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and two status pins indicating charging completion and input voltage connection.
