TP4055

The TP4055 is a complete single-cell lithium-ion battery charger with reverse polarity protection, using constant current/constant voltage linear control. Its SOT23-5 package and minimal external components make the TP4055 ideal for portable applications. The TP4055 is suitable for USB power and adapter power operation. The TP4055 uses an internal PMOSFET architecture and a reverse charge protection circuit, eliminating the need for external sense resistors and isolation diodes. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charge current to limit chip temperature during high-power operation or high ambient temperatures. The full charge voltage is fixed at 4.2V, while the charge current is externally set via a resistor. After the battery reaches 4.2V, the charge current drops to 1/10 of the set value, and the TP4055 automatically terminates charging. When the input voltage (AC adapter or USB power) is removed, the TP4055 automatically enters a low-current state, with battery leakage current below 2µA. Other features of the TP4055 include a charge current monitor, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and a status pin indicating charging completion and input voltage connection.
