TP4054/TP4054X
The TP4054 is a complete single-cell lithium-ion battery constant current/constant voltage linear charger. Its SOT23-5 package and minimal external components make the TP4054 ideal for portable applications. The TP4054 can operate from USB power and adapter power. The TP4054 uses an internal PMOSFET architecture and includes reverse charge protection, eliminating the need for external sense resistors and isolation diodes. Thermal feedback regulates the charge current to limit chip temperature during high-power operation or high ambient temperatures. The charge voltage is fixed at 4.2V, while the charge current is externally set via a resistor. When the charge current drops to 1/10 of the set value after reaching the final float voltage, the TP4054 automatically terminates the charging cycle. When the input voltage (AC adapter or USB power) is removed, the TP4054 automatically enters a low-current state, reducing battery leakage current to below 2µA. The TP4054 can also be put into shutdown mode to reduce supply current to 45µA. Other features of the TP4054 include a charge current monitor, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and a status pin indicating the end of charging and input voltage connection.
