TP4100/TP4101/TP4102

The TP4100/TP4101/TP4102 is a complete single-cell lithium-ion battery charge management and discharge protection chip. It is the first to feature 5V power supply positive and negative polarity reversal protection, battery positive and negative polarity reversal protection, and is compatible with charging currents from 3mA to 1000mA. It uses constant current/constant voltage linear control. Its thin DFN and TSOT packages and the small number of external components make it ideal for portable product applications. Because it uses an internal PMOSFET architecture and a reverse charge protection circuit, external detection resistors and isolation diodes are not required. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charging current to limit the chip temperature during high-power operation or high ambient temperatures. The chip has a power voltage power adaptive function and can be directly powered by USB or solar energy. The full voltage is fixed at 4.2V, while the charging current can be set externally via a resistor. After the battery reaches 4.2V, the charging current drops to 1/10 of the set value, and the TP4100 automatically terminates charging. The TP4100's discharge management includes undervoltage protection, overcharge protection, output short-circuit protection, output overcurrent protection, chip overtemperature protection, and delayed self-activation recovery after multiple protections. Other features include a charging current monitor, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharging, and two pins for indicating charging status (TP4101 has one charging indicator status pin). The TP4100 uses an 8-pin DFN3*3mm package with a charging current range of 3mA-1000mA. The TP4101 uses a 6-pin TSOT23 package with a charging current range of 3mA-600mA. The TP4102 uses an 8-pin DFN2*2mm package with a charging current range of 3-1000mA.
