Chip Description
The EG276 integrates a Hall sensor and a collector-open complementary output driver, mainly used for two-phase brushless DC fans in electronic conversions. The chip integrates a Hall sensor, reference voltage, preamplifier, Schmitt trigger comparator, and complementary collector-open outputs (DO, DOB).
In DC fan applications, reverse power connection sometimes occurs. The EG276 has a built-in reverse connection protection diode, which can only protect the chip but not the coil. If necessary, a diode can be externally connected to the coil to protect it during reverse power connection. When the magnetic flux density (B) is greater than the operating current (Bop), DO outputs a low level, and DOB outputs a high level. The states of the two output pins remain until B is below the release point (Brp), at which time DO and DOB change their output states.
