LP8778A is a constant voltage and constant current controller suitable for auxiliary control flyback applications. Using a unique detection method and algorithm, the system can operate in a constant voltage and constant current output state. The system uses a multi-mode control scheme. In the constant voltage operating state, the chip uses peak current control mode, and starts to reduce the frequency to improve average efficiency below medium load. In light load or no-load conditions, the system operates in burst mode. In the constant current operating state, a fixed current limit reference value is used to achieve the constant current function. The chip uses a unique frequency jitter technology to improve EMI indicators. LP8778A has multiple protection functions, including VCC undervoltage protection, VCC overvoltage protection, output short-circuit protection, output synchronous rectification short-circuit protection, inductor overcurrent protection, overtemperature protection, input undervoltage protection, output overvoltage protection, optocoupler input short-circuit protection, and CS resistor short-circuit protection. LP8778A uses SOT23-6L packaging
