The SY5321 is a highly integrated IC featuring input undervoltage and overvoltage protection, load current anomaly protection, and overtemperature protection. The SY5321 is used in the front end of charging circuits or low-voltage systems to protect lithium batteries or low-voltage systems from abnormal input faults and can withstand abnormal input voltages up to 30V. The SY5321 allows for setting an external input overvoltage threshold via the OVP pin, or selecting the internally set input overvoltage threshold. When the internally set input overvoltage threshold is less than the externally set overvoltage threshold via the OVP pin, the SY5321 will automatically select the internal overvoltage threshold; otherwise, it will select the external overvoltage threshold set via the OVP pin.
When the input voltage exceeds the overvoltage protection threshold, the IC will quickly shut down the internal MOSFET within 50nS, preventing the backend low-voltage system from being affected by abnormally high input voltage; the IC can limit the input current through a resistor connected between ILIM and ground, preventing excessive input current to the low-voltage system; and when the IC detects that the chip temperature exceeds the overtemperature protection threshold, it will also shut down the MOSFET and stop power supply.
When the SY5321 is controlled by a processor, the host can obtain the IC's operating status through status acquisition.
The SY5321 is available in a DFN-2x2-8L package and has a rated temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
