CN3082
Overview: CN3082 is a chip that can control the charging of various types of batteries, including single-cell lithium batteries, single-cell lithium iron phosphate batteries, or two to four nickel-metal hydride batteries. The device includes an internal power transistor, eliminating the need for external current-sensing resistors and current-limiting diodes. CN3082 requires very few external components and complies with USB bus technical specifications, making it ideal for portable products. A thermal modulation circuit keeps the chip temperature within a safe range when the device's power consumption is high or the ambient temperature is high. The chip integrates a high-precision voltage comparator with 1% accuracy, allowing for precise setting of the constant-current charging termination voltage. The internal 8-bit analog-to-digital converter automatically adjusts the charging current based on the input voltage source's current output capability. Users do not need to consider worst-case scenarios, maximizing the utilization of the input voltage source's current output capability. This is particularly suitable for battery charging applications powered by voltage sources with limited current output capabilities, such as solar panels. The CN3082 charging current can be set via an external resistor. When the input voltage is cut off, the CN3082 automatically enters a low-power sleep mode, with battery current consumption less than 3 microamps. Other features include input undervoltage latch, trickle charging when the battery voltage is low, automatic recharging, battery temperature monitoring, and status indication. CN3082 uses a heat-enhanced 8-pin small outline package (SOP8).
