Overview: CN3153 is an integrated circuit that can manage the constant current/constant voltage charging of a single-cell lithium battery. The device includes internal power transistors, eliminating the need for external current sensing resistors and current limiting diodes. CN3153 requires very few external components, making it ideal for portable applications. The thermal modulation circuit can control the chip temperature within a safe range when the device power consumption is high or the ambient temperature is high. The constant voltage charging voltage can be adjusted by an external resistor. The charging current is set by an external resistor. When the battery voltage is low, CN3153 is in trickle charging mode, and the trickle charging current can be selected as 10% or 100% of the constant current charging current. When the input voltage is cut off, CN3153 automatically enters a low-power sleep mode, with a battery current consumption of less than 3 microamps. Other functions include battery short-circuit protection, input undervoltage latch, automatic recharging, charging status/charging completion status indication, etc. CN3153 is available in a heat-enhanced 8-pin small outline package (eSOP8).
