CN3142
Overview: CN3142 is a single-cell lithium battery charge management chip that can be powered by solar energy. The device includes an internal power transistor and does not require an external current detection resistor or current limiting diode. The internal adaptive charging current module automatically adjusts the charging current according to the current output capability of the input power supply. Users do not need to consider the worst-case scenario, maximizing the use of the input power supply's current output capability. This is ideal for lithium battery charging applications powered by power supplies with limited current output capabilities, such as solar panels. CN3142 requires very few external components, making it ideal for portable applications. The thermal modulation circuit can control the chip temperature to around 132℃ when the device's power consumption is high or the ambient temperature is high, preventing the chip from overheating. The charging current is set by an external resistor, with a minimum constant current charging current as low as 3 mA, making it suitable for charging small-capacity batteries. When the input voltage drops, CN3142 automatically enters a low-power sleep mode, with a battery current of less than 3 μA. Other functions include input undervoltage latch, automatic recharging, JEITA-compliant battery temperature monitoring, overcurrent protection during charging, and charging status indication. CN3142 is available in a 6-pin SOT23 package.
